Charles E. Frame, Sr. was born in Prospect, Pa., on December 9, 1919. His mother died when he was quite young and his grandparents who lived on a farm raised him. Before going to school he had farm chores to be completed. His chores included milking the cows, gathering eggs from the hen house; bringing in wood for cooking and keeping the house warm. After his chores were done he had to walk several miles to school.

Charles graduated from high school and enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country and to complete his education. While in the Army, he earned a degree in Sociology and served in several wars (WWIl, & Vietnam War - served two tours of duties). After 25 years in the Army he retired.

Charles met and married Diane (D.W.). Diane had two daughters from a previous marriage; whom he loved and raised. Charles and Diane had one daughter together; Charlene M. Frame. Charlene was the apple of his eye and his only biological child. He showered much love and attention on her and her sisters. He instilled family values, education, and work values in them.

Since Charles was raised on a farm he wanted his daughters to have that same benefit. He taught his daughters not only how to ride horses but how to take care of them and the other animals. He brought other children around the farm and taught them to respect themselves, people, and animals. Many of the children had never been on a farm or had chores to perform. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with children and watching their transformation from when he first came into contact with them to successful adulthood.

He believed strongly in education; and encouraged his children and others he helped; to get an education and maintain it. He always told them “that no one can take your values and education away from you. Only way you can lose it is to give it up.” He knew that the children are our future leaders but without direction and guidance they would not reach their full potential. He would state children need to know how to respect others and how to carry themselves in a way to be respected at all times.

Charles was a devoted Christian. He attended Salem Baptist Church for over 30 years. He rarely missed a Sunday’s service and paid his tithes regularly. He instilled in his family the importance of God in their lives.

Charles life came to an end at the age of 72 when a drunk driver hit his truck head on; he died from his injuries a month later. He is gone but not forgotten his children has taken on his cause for helping less fortunate children. For years his family has helped hundreds of children by being mentors to them, helping them through school, helping with housing, studying abroad, and taking them on trips to places they’d never been. After years of helping children; God gave Charlene the vision to create a foundation in remembrance of her father on the values he stood for. In 2007, Charles E. Frame, Sr Foundation became incorporated.
